Class Descriptions 

Mindfulness:

 

Mindfulness for ages 8 to 11 provides an environment for young learners to explore mindfulness practices. Through a mix of activities, including journaling, connecting with nature, guided meditation, and breathing exercises, students will develop essential skills to navigate their emotions and cultivate a deeper sense of self-awareness.

 

Components of the mindfulness class:

Journaling: Students will be encouraged to express their thoughts, feelings, and observations through journaling exercises. Journaling prompts will prompt self-reflection and help students articulate their experiences during mindfulness practices.

Nature Connection: Recognizing that the natural world around us has a tremendous effect on our physical, mental and emotional well-being, this class will incorporate outdoor activities and nature walks. Students will learn to appreciate the natural world around them, fostering a sense of connection and grounding.

Meditation: Guided meditations suitable for a young learnes attention span and interest will introduce students to mindfulness practices. Through gentle guidance, they will learn to focus their attention, observe their thoughts without judgment, and cultivate a sense of calm and presence.

Breathing Exercises: we will be explorting breathing and breathing practices to teach students techniques for regulating their emotions and reducing stress will be introduced. Breathing exercises will empower students to harness the power of their breath to navigate challenging situations with resilience.

Science:

 

Science class is designed to foster a love for science.  For your homeschool learners aged 8 to 11. Through a dynamic curriculum that integrates life science, earth science, and physical science, students will embark on an exciting journey of hands on learning and fun.

 

All lessons will be taught in units, through differentiation of instruction and with consideration of the child as a whole. 

Students will begin class with a brain-balancing warm-up, affirmations, & tapping. Lessons will cover various standards-based topics including life science, earth science, and physical science. 

 

All lessons will include hands-on activities, an interactive notebook, and art. All learning styles are embedded with each lesson. Topics will vary in each semester. 

 

Ages 8-11 Cost $350 depending on class size for a 4 week class.  This is a parent drop off class. 


World Cultures Class:

The World Cultures class offers young learners an immersive journey through the rich tapestry of human civilization. Designed for ages 8 to 11, this class explores major civilizations, including Rome, China, the Iberian Peninsula, Mesoamerica, and Europe during the medieval and Renaissance periods. Students will learn about the cultural, artistic, and culinary traditions that have shaped societies across the globe.

 

 All lessons will be taught in units, through differentiation of instruction and inconsideration of the child as a whole. Students will begin class with a brain-balancing warm-up, affirmations, & tapping. Lessons will cover various standards-based topics for this age group.  

 

All lessons will include hands-on activities, an interactive notebook, and art. All learning styles are embedded with each lesson. Topics will vary each semester. 

 

Ages 8-11 Cost $250-$300 depending on class size for a 4 week class. This is a parent drop off class.

 

Summer mindfulness in nature classes offered. 

 

Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am to 12:30 beginning June 27th to July 18th. There will be no class Thurday July 4th. 

 

The summer mindfulness in Nature class offers a holistic approach to summer learning, combining mindfulness practices with art and immersion in the natural world. Through a variety of engaging activities, students will cultivate mindfulness skills, foster creativity, and develop a deeper connection with the environment around them. Each day will offer a unique blend of mindfulness meditation, nature exploration, artistic expression, and reflective writing, providing a nurturing space for personal growth and self-discovery.
